Professional History
After gaining selection as a
Junior for the Great Britain team I moved into the G.B. 'World Class
Performance Programme' with the aim of becoming a professional cyclist
by 2004. From 2000-2003 I raced both for the British National team
and several European amateur outfits in Holland (Bloks-Nijdam) and
then France (Nantes 44). After a highly successful last year as
an Elite in France I turned Professional with the Italian Amore
E Vita outfit. A strong debut season then saw me move into the Barloworld
Team for 2005-2006. Here I competed in many of the World's top races.
Although I was a valued member of this team and had an option to
stay onwards I decided I needed to give cycling a break due to personal
circumstance in my life. This led me to some time in Australia,
where I married and eventually raced again for the Drapac-Porche
Pro team. After being convinced I wanted to return to full time
racing and after securing dual residency for Australia and the UK.
I was contacted by the head of British Cycling to lead a new UK
based Pro team for 2008.
